Cruise ship nursery nurses also have involvement with other duties on board the cruise ship such as embarkation and disembarkation, muster station duties, welcome on board shows and meeting and greeting children and parents.  

Skills Required:

• Ideal candidates will hold a NNEB/CACHE Diploma or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of two years nursery experience with children aged 6 months and upwards.
• Experience of working with young children is essential, along with a high level of customer service, motivation, commitment and excellent organisational skills.
• Applicants must be British citizens and those with a C1D visa are desirable.
• Having a current First Aid qualification will significantly increase the chance of selection.
• Experience of working at sea, additional languages and nanny work experience are favourably viewed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Cruise nursery nurses are responsible for planning, preparing and delivering a range of nursery activities for children up to the age of 7 years.
• Cruise ship nursery nurses will assist with on board including embarkation / disembarkation, muster station duties, welcome on board shows, meeting and greeting parents.
• Welcome and get to know the children in the nursery, ensuring that their enjoyment is your prime concern. Care for and encourage the children on board the cruise ship and integrate any unhappy children into the group activities.
• Ensure the Health and Safety of the children in your care.

·         As a member of the cruise staff, the youth/teen counselor is responsible to assist in implementing any of the scheduled social, entertainment or recreational activities, ensuring that each event takes place safely and promptly as scheduled.

·         Youth/teen counselors are expected to enhance programs with current skills, knowledge and abilities.

·         Each youth/teen counselor must have the ability to serve as an effective Host/Hostess. Each youth/teen counselor must have the ability to work as a team member in cooperation with other cruise staff members, as well as with all other shipboard departments.

·         It is the responsibility of the youth/teen counselor to be accessible to and approachable with guests.  He/She must be capable of being a patient listener while making guests feel at home.

·         Youth/teen counselors are responsible for parent/guest interaction, offering information regarding youth and teen programs.

·         Youth/teen counselors must be comfortable speaking and performing in front of large groups of children and families.

Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
